Śrī Vilāpa-kusumāñjali is Raghunātha Dāsa Gosvāmī’s deeply personal collection of prayers, expressing a devotee’s longing to serve Śrīmatī Rādhārāī with complete dedication. Described as a garland of heartfelt supplications, the text offers a glimpse into the devotional aspirations cherished within the Gauīya Vaiṣava tradition.

In Volume Four, Śivarāma Swami continues his Patrāṅkitā commentary—“Words Inscribed Upon a Petal”— rooted in the writings of Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda and the previous ācāryas. His guidance helps readers approach the poetry of Vilāpa-kusumāñjali thoughtfully, grounding its meaning in theology, practice, and scriptural context, whilst offering deeper insight into the moment-by-moment world of Rādhā–Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes.

This volume explores the Afternoon and Evening Pastimes (verses 45–57). The sequence follows the gentle flow of daily devotional service: worship, preparation of offerings, assisting with meals, incense, tāmbūla, and ārati, and the peaceful close of the day. Throughout, the emphasis remains on attentive service, reverence, and remembrance.

The book is designed for both study and contemplation. Each verse is presented with the original Sanskrit, word-for-word meanings, and translation, followed by detailed commentary that connects the poetry to lived devotional practice.

While Śivarāma Swami notes that the text holds special meaning for devotees drawn to the mādhurya-rasa, the commentary is presented in a way that allows any sincere reader to appreciate this devotional literature and understand its seminal position within the Gauḍīya lineage.
